As our native wildlife prepares for the winter ahead, autumn is a time of increased activity; the Autumn stag rut as the males bellow throughout the glens, red squirrels foraging for their winter hoarde of nuts, herons swooping along the shoreline and red eagles soaring in the skies above.

We're fortunate to have dark skies over much of the Highlands which makes stargazing a real treat on a crisp clear night. It's also possible to see the Northern Lights or "Mirrie Dancers" from our north facing Hideaways, or even from our Little Fox Lodge's Hot Tub.

Oban is known as the Gateway to the Hebrides with many Inner and Outer Hebridean Islands accessible onboard Caledonian MacBrayne ferries. We love to visit Mull and Iona in the Autumn as it's just a short 45 minute crossing and there's so much to explore.
